The long-running feud between Nigerian Afrobeats street stars Mr Portable and Zlatan Ibile has erupted again all over social media.
Their strained relationship has been brewing for several years, in 2024 Portable accused Zlatan of interfering in his friendship with Davido, claiming that Zlatan had advised the Afrobeats superstar to be cautious around him.

The latest clash began after Zlatan displayed an account balance of 500 million Naira online, Portable responded by publicly questioning the source of the money, claiming that it was probably fake and asking the EFCC to investigate.
Prompting Zlatan aka Mr Pepper Dem to clap back and comment that Portable is still struggling despite all the Coca Cola and Fanta stunts he's been promoting online and that's why 500 million Naira is still a such a big deal to him - hmm.😏
Portable has since escalated the confrontation with further allegation about Zlatan, while Zlatan has continued to fire back, and the exchange have quickly spread all over social media with fans debating the issue and expressing their views online.
Importantly the serious accusations made during their dispute remain allegations and should not be treated as proven facts at least for now 😏.
Where this latest escalation of the their feud goes only time will tell but one sure bet is that Portable who seems to have a notorious appetite for creating confrontations and controversy with other Afrobeat stars such as Davido, Olamide and many more, will not be backing done anytime soon.
So my final question and take on this saga would be is Portable's never ending confrontations and controversial behaviour just a strategy to gain publicity and stay relevant or is the guy just a nuisance who probably thinks he is the Afrobeats version of Kanye West.
